Members have a wide
range of benefits
The union's legal advice and legal aid concern cases related to employment relationships. If a member is granted legal aid, the union pays all costs related to the proceedings. Some unions have a co-payment or compensation ceiling for legal aid, the excess of which the member has to pay for the costs. PAU's legal aid is significantly better in this respect, as PAU's legal aid has neither a co-payment nor compensation ceiling.
Every member has the right to apply for legal aid from the union. Under union bylaws, to be eligible to receive legal aid, a member must, as a rule, have been a member of the union for six months before the labour dispute occurred and membership obligations must be in order.
