Many valuable member benefits

Union membership make your job more secure

You can become a member of PAU and its unemployment fund if you are working in the sectors covered by PAU. The clearest benefit of being a member is the collective labour agreement and promotion of interests. The collective labour agreement negotiated between PAU and employer organizations has a major impact. It includes among other things salaries, overtime compensations, working hours, holidays, holiday pay, paid free time and pay for sick leave. The legislation only covers the minimum level of working conditions, and in salaries not even that. The collective labour agreement negotiated by PAU gives so much more.

Participate and influence

The result of a negotiation depends largely on how strong a labour union is. That is why it is important that you are also a member of a labour union in your work sector. Good agreements and pay rises for workers can be achieved only if the workers belong to the labour federation in their work field. As a member of PAU, you have a direct channel to influence on what kind of aims are set for the negotiations. Actually, by being a member you can guarantee that even in the future someone will be negotiating salaries and benefits better than the law provides – that means a collective labour agreement for the sector.

Expert and negotiating help

Naturally PAU also monitors the compliance of collective labour agreements. Its members are entitled to get expert and negotiating help as well as help from the legal counsel in conflict situations. In addition, members are also entitled to participate in different kind of courses arranged by the federation. Members get also other benefits that PAU has, e.g. discounts and significant valuable benefits.

On these pages, you can find information on how to join PAU and about the services and benefits that only members get.
