FICORA participates as a managing authority in the development of postal services and in domestic and international co-operation.
It is also responsible for overseeing compliance with the law on postal service and the regulations issued under it as well as handling customer complaints. FICORA is assisted by an Advisory Board on Postal Affairs, where consumers, companies, post offices and authorities are represented. Its aim is to safeguard the interests of postal users when postal services are evolving.
FICORA is the authority that helps customers and postal companies to resolve disputes and problems to the satisfaction of the parties. You can turn to the Authority when disputes concern terms of delivery or mail delivery and can’t be resolved in cooperation with the Post.
Disagreements about the postal service agreement done with the postal operator is ruled by a court of law. In the case of disputes about the location of mailboxes, the final decision lies with the municipal building supervisor, who also must consider the general instructions given by FICORA.
The purpose of the instructions is to secure and reconcile the interests of postal recipients, senders and postal companies in organizing the mail delivery in the interest of all.
